Tekes Represent Top 3% of Greek Leaders

The Xi-Lambda chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon would like to congratulate President Grayson Jacobs and Secretary Alex Chickowski for being awarded membership in to the Order of Omega. Order of Omega is the most prestigious leadership honor society for members of Greek organizations in the country. The Order of Omega selects the top 3% of Greek leaders from each campus to be members of the organization.

Every member is involved with the Greek Community, the college campus, and the local community. There are three distinct purposes of the organization: “to recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment; to bring together outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs; and to bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution’s fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness.” We are thrilled that Alex Chickowski and Grayson Jacobs will be representing Tau Kappa Epsilon in the Order of Omega.

Six Members Selected for the Sophomore Leaders’ Circle

Tau Kappa Epsilon is proud to announce six brothers were selected to represent TKE in the Sophomore Leaders’ Circle; Daniel Kerber, Blake Turner, Jake Rooney, Alex Chickowski, Benjamin Lastinger, and Kareem Mahmoud. Tau Kappa Epsilon has the largest representation of any fraternity in this organization. The Sophomore Leaders’ Circle is indeed an excellent leadership opportunity at UGA.

Established in 2002, the Sophomore Leaders’ Circle is a program for fraternity and sorority members that are beginning their second year of Greek membership or are classified as sophomores. The purpose of this program is to identify potential leaders and established leaders in the Greek community and offer them the opportunity to further develop leadership skills and build relationships with others in the Greek community and on campus, including the Greek Life Office and UGA administration. Selected students participate in a series of personal development, leadership development, and educational programs. Many of these seminars and workshops are run and taught by formal guest speakers and discuss topics such as how to do well in a job interview, building a resume, life in the business world, and many others.

The Greek Sophomore Leaders’ Circle meets every other week and is an excellent way for Greeks of differing fraternities or sororities to get to know each other. The Six members aforementioned represent Tau Kappa Epsilon well both inside and outside the fraternity as they are looked upon as true leaders. The Sophomore Leaders’ Circle is proudly funded by Greek alumni, family, and friends in memory of one of Xi-Lambda’s own, Joe LoCicero.

“Joe LoCicero was a 1984 Greek Horseman and student leader who conducted his life in such a way that he left an imprint of joy and encouragement on those around him. He embraced and embodied the character traits of integrity, honor, and faith. His is a worthy legacy to follow.” ~ The Greek Horsemen, Class of 1985
